The 10 Best Things I Ate This (Blog) Year

My blogiversary (the anniversary of my blog) is on Wednesday, October 27th.  It is my ONE year anniversary.  Guys, you have been such great readers.  I love your comments, tweets, and e-mails.  I love getting e-mail requests for a restaurant recommendation (seriously, I love it. do it more).  

To celebrate, I want to share with you the TEN best things I ate this year.  This is one of those countdown lists like they have around New Years.  I decided to do mine early, in honor of the blogiversary, and also because I am going away for a few weeks and don't want to leave you hanging.  So if I do not respond to tweets as quickly or leave your comments dangling, please know I am not ignoring you.  

Next Monday, October 18th, the countdown will begin.  Now, these top ten things I ate are not broken down into categories, like best passed bread (Le Bernardin) or best drunk brunch I ate/drank (Philip Marie) or best hash browns (Vynl).  These ten things I ate are literally and singularly the best ten things I ate this year.  These are specific dishes that were hands down mind blowing.  For some of these dishes, the first bite was everything.  I took one bite and I knew I was eating something unlike anything before it.  I knew it would change my opinion on any dish that tried to imitate it in the future.  Other top ten dishes just produced irrational feelings for me, which led to their placement on the list.  To give a bit of a hint, one dish had a condiment on it that made me want to put that condiment on everything, always, from there on out.  That is crazy, but that must mean it was good.  And a few dishes reminded me of foods that I used to eat in a more simpler form but that when cooked to perfection, it transforms everything that dish stands for (aka, it is down right YUM).
