Knickerbocker Bar & Grill

I went to Knickerbocker Bar & Grill on University Place and 9th Street for brunch last Sunday.  It was very meh.  I was always curious about Knickerbocker since I used to pass it alot.  And the dinner menu looks great.  Perhaps dinner at Knickerbocker is the way to go.
The decor is very haunted mansion meets weird suburb dining room.  It is not very hip or cool.  What struck me most was the crowd.  I believe my table was one of the few tables with a group under the age of 60.  I started wondering - how do you find out the age group of a restaurant?  Most places to cater to all obviously.  The really expensive restaurants won't draw in college students. Bars that do not card attract underage people.  But every now and then, I walk into a restaurant and I feel out of place.  I have nothing wrong with any age group.  However, when I invite someone out and I pick a place, I want the vibe to be jumping and appropriate, ya know?  So please, enlighten me.  Where do I get this information?!?
Other than that, there is not much more to say about this restaurant.  The food was ok, but not great.  My omelette said it would have tomatoes, but it had sundried tomatoes.  I consider sundried tomatoes to be quite different from tomatoes.  I felt as though that should have been specified.
Brunch at Knickerbocker - I would not recommend it.

And don't forget to let me know how you find age appropriate places!
Have a delicious day!
